Sustainability
at Schumacher Lager & Logistik
Schumacher Lager und Logistik GmbH has also made great progress in reducing its carbon footprint in 2022. Our dedicated sustainability team has worked intensively on analyzing our CO2 emissions and taking measures to further reduce our ecological footprint and increase our use of sustainable resources.
Already in 2021, we started a partnership with ClimatePartner, a leading provider of solutions for sustainable business practices. Together we developed and implemented a comprehensive sustainability strategy that enabled us to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions and increase the use of renewable energies at our headquarter at the Monnetstraße 17.
The specific measures we have taken include switching to more environmentally friendly energy sources to reduce our energy consumption, digitalization to reduce our paper consumption, as well as measures to reduce waste and reduce emissions from our employees’ commute.
Through our efforts, we were able to reduce our CO2 emissions by an impressive 20% compared to the previous year. In 2022, our CO2 emissions were 1167.96 tons of CO2, compared to 1447.0 tons of CO2 in 2021. This is a big step in the right direction, but we are not resting on it. Our goal now is to reduce our CO2 emissions by a further 10%.
We are aware that there is still a lot of work ahead of us, but we are confident that together we will achieve our sustainability goals. As a company, we are proud to make a positive contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and protecting our environment. We will continue to work continuously to strengthen our commitment to sustainability and continually reduce our carbon footprint.
